Involving citizens in urban nature-based solutions strategies

  • Tue, 30/04/2024

This webinar, organised by the GrowGreen project, will take place on 22 April between 11:00-13:00 CET.

The benefits of engaging citizens in nature-based solutions projects are well known – the resulting projects can be adapted to their needs and can incorporate their local knowledge, and local acceptance of the projects tends to be higher. But capturing and maintaining the interest of all members of society in the more abstract process of creating a city-strategy for nature-based solutions can be challenging. This webinar explores options for achieving this engagement, building on the experiences of the GrowGreen project as well as other European cities.

It aims to give cities and other stakeholders insight into tools and approaches for engaging citizens in nature based solutions at city scale; to identify creative and innovative methods of engagement that keep the public interested; and to identify potentially difficult to reach populations and channels to reach them.

This event will feature stories and experiences on effective citizen engagement from the GrowGreen cities Wroclaw, Valencia and Manchester, as well as our friends from GreenWish in the Netherlands who successfully support sustainable community initiatives since many years.
