UNaLab was invited to the GreenEST Summit - the largest Greentech event in the region - which was held between 26-28 October in Tallinn, Estonia. In this event, Abdolrasoul Habibipour, post-doctoral researcher in information systems at Luleå University of Technology and Managing Director of Botnia Living Lab, presented an overview of urban living labs. The presentation focused the UNaLab project as a successful example on the use of the urban living lab approach to develop nature-based solutions in European cities.
The GreenEST Summit is the flagship Greentech event, bringing together public and private sector experts, cleantech companies and investors from all over Europe, to discuss how to address the inevitable green revolution. In his keynote speech and in the panel discussion, Habibipour highlighted several important aspects to consider in the implementation of urban living labs in a smart city context. The engagement of citizens in the nature-based solutions’ development process, co-creation that brings value to the involved stakeholders, as well as real life experimentation and piloting are some of the topics that were highlighted in the presentation and addressed in the panel discussion.
