In the SCC2 UNaLab project, the city of Cannes is developing a roadmap towards becoming a more green, safe and pleasant city in 2050. Focus is the use of nature-based solutions for an integrated climate and water management. In this context, the UNaLab on-site assessment took place from 05.-09.11.18. During this week, representatives of the city and researchers for the Fraunhofer IAO together conducted over 20 interviews with relevant stakeholders from different departments and institutions and co-developed 22 ideas to increase resilience and sustainability. Some ideas, such as the development of an eco-quartier as showcase for nature-based solutions, the use of treated wastewater to secure local agriculture, as well as the implementation of first green roof pilots and a systematic permeabilisation of urban spaces for a better runoff management were further elaborated in the final workshop.
